New construction of submarine cable Germany & UK
The NeuConnect interconnector is the first direct electricity line between Germany and the UK, connecting two of Europe’s largest energy markets.
Construction work on the project is underway, and a 725 km high-voltage direct current transmission line (HVDC line) will form an invisible ‘energy highway’ between Germany and the UK. It will enable up to 1.4 GW of electricity to be transported in both directions and supply up to 1.5 million households with energy during its lifetime.
